As a sole practitioner with business limited exclusively to family law, I make time to answer most of my telephone calls personally. My team includes my secretary of 23 years, Mary Helen Ponte, and Becca McCurdy. I have organized my practice in such a way as to keep office overhead expenses to a minimum so as to keep divorce costs down for my clients. Fees are reasonable. Goals set are realistic and generally reached within budgeted time. I have relied on word of mouth recommendations over the years from satisfied clients. As a long-time practitioner in the area, I am able to work effectively with local attorneys and judges.
In custody litigation, I put a high emphasis on the best interests of a child. I will not represent a client who insists on a child-related goal that is clearly not in a child’s best interest. I seek to de-escalate nonproductive hostility that too often results in lengthy, expensive litigation.
In support manners, I aggressively pursue my client’s rights to have their children’s needs met through state guideline support amounts, and to have a fair and reasonable spousal support award when appropriate.
In the division of property, I use my background in business administration and my specialty training in family law to resolve complicated commingling community property issues. My understanding and training in this area of the law assures that my clients receive their full share of community property with minimum time spent in unnecessary litigation.
I understand the unique emotional difficulties present in the dissolving of a committed marital relationship. I understand the value of the attorney’s patience and support throughout the marital dissolution process. I also am aware of the desire of most clients to keep costs down and do my best to focus and direct my services toward getting the desired results in the most efficient manner.
